I'm Back!

Someday, dogs will have opposeable thumbs, I know it. 

I've been helpin' my momma a lot. 

I keep an eye on the ducks for her, even though they quack a lot at me. 

Momma, they won't hurt me, will they? 

Here I am, bringing the truck in with my daddy! 

And here I am tonight, havin' a drink with my big brother Ranger! 

He has trouble gettin' up and down, and momma brings his water to him sometimes. 

The Protector of Us All

Here is my big sister Lilly... the Protector of Us All 

I'm the Associate Protector of Us All, and we keep watch over our brother Ranger, who has trouble getting around now.  We wait for him, because we love him.  

A Beautiful Day

My mama plays that song a lot, and today, we had a beautiful day, so it came true.  

It's 50 degrees right now, and I got to go outside and play! 

Yayyyy! 

Here's my big brother Ranger, watching the water come out of our well house.  The sump pump in there pushes the extra water out.  We had just come from the pasture, and Ranger was really, really hot and tired and having trouble walking.  He's old. 

I love to play in water, I was so glad to see it! 

There it goes again!  Can you see it in the middle of the little house? 

I know that water went under here!

My momma tried to make a little video go on here, but it didn't go for a long time, so she had to stop. 

I told her "That's okay, momma, we can try again tomorow!"

It Snowed Some More

My brother Ranger and I are SO TIRED OF THIS STUFF. 

So is my momma, because she shoveled paths for us again. 

No going down to the pasture for a few days! 

First Day of Spring!

First Day of Spring! 

How come it's so cold here? 

30 degrees at 1 PM!  

Gosh! 

You see we are working in the vegetable garden again.  Momma says we'll go back to the flower beds next week. 

I wasn't lookin' at anything, I was scratchin' my side on that wood, and boy, did it feel GOOD. 

Some of the stuff in these beds smelled good. 

Those are NOT my footprints in the bed I was smellin', they are LILLY's, and yes, I am a tattletale. 

The wind was blowing and it got a little cold, so after I checked on the chickens, I asked momma if I could go back in and get warm, and she said yes. 

Here's my daddy lovin' on me before he went to work today.  I was in a trance, because he was rubbin' my tummy JUST like I like it! 

Sorry I got puggy hair all over your good shirt, daddy

Digging Almost to China

Today, my big sister Lilly Ann tried to dig to China, again. 

I was watchin' her. 

Her paws are big, much bigger than my puggy paws. 

She wouldn't tell me what she was looking for, but I kept watchin'. 

Finally, momma said "That's Enough, Lilly", so she stopped and came out of the pasture with momma and me. 

She's a good dog! 

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I didn't get to wear anything green today, but I did get to go on pasture patrol with Lilly again. 

We are checking out the brush pile here. 

I know something is living in here, but I don't know what it is. 

It's a long way back up to the top of the pasture! 

You can see I'm protecting everyone here... I saw something next door that even got my ruff on my back to stand up!  I like to be up on this mountain where I can see everything! 

My momma saved me last night... I went out side to potty at 10, and I saw something I had to protect my momma from.  Even Lilly stayed away from it and went right back in the house.  Momma told me "Don't move!" and ran back in the house to get a flashlight. 

When she came out, I was still guarding the animal. 

Momma didn't get a picture of it, but this is what it looked like: 

Only he was in the horseyard, and his tail was standing straight up. 

Momma told me to COME ON after she made sure the little guy left.  

She told me never, ever to go near this little guy, that I would be very sorry. 

Lilly already knew about him... that's why she went inside first. 

I guess if momma says to leave him alone, I'd better!  

I Gots a New Bunny Today!

My momma and my daddy went to the store this morning

TOO HOT FOR MARCH!

My mama says it's time for "March Madness" where we live, but I just know that it's
TOO HOT. 

Ranger and I had to hit the deck this afternoon to get some fresh air: 

Here I am getting up, and telling Ranger... "C'mon, Big Bro!" 

As you can see, it's pretty bright out on our deck... it's 82 degrees right now and that's TOO HOT. 

(Mama turned on the airconditioning for us!) 

Helpin' Lilly

Today, mama and I were workin' in the garden, but Lilly saw something in the pasture, so we thought we had better go look. 

I'm trying to keep up with Lilly, but her legs are so long and mine are so short.  She was WAYYY ahead of me! 

We checked out the far corner... there was nothing on the cow pond. 

Then we thought we'd better check out the north end.   We kept hearing something. 

Mr. Redbird was singing his merry spring song! 

Then mama said it was time for me to come up, because patrolling the pasture wears a little pug girl out fast! See my little pink tongue hanging out? 

I Finally Got my Blog!

Abby Lynn here. 

I help my mama with her chickens on our little farm.  My mama told me a long time ago that my little sister Gertie and I were going to have our own blog, but then Gertie went to the Rainbow Bridge. 

Now mama says it's time for me to have my own blog, and tell you about everything going on with me here on the farm. 

It isn't really a farm, you know, my mama just calls it that.  

I'm so short that it SEEMS like a farm to me, and I smell all kinds of strange things... so I know some wild things have come around at night while I'm sleeping safe with mama and daddy. 

Here I am sharing a drink with my big brother, Ranger.  He has trouble standing up sometimes, so he cries to let mama know he's thirsty, then he and I get to have a drink together. 

Here's my big sister, Lilly, laying in MY bed by mama's desk.  

If she wants to lay there, she can, because she's the Protector of All of Us here at the farm. 

I don't mess with her. 

And these guys don't mess with ME!
