Farm Stuff

It's been rainin' a lot at our house lately

I've been spendin' a lot of time like this.

My momma says I'm slackin' off.

Now where ARE those chickens?

Hmmmm. Somethin' down here tastes GOOD!

I took my babies for their walkies several times, until it got so wet momma didn't want us out in it.

Aren't they gettin' big?

I'm just a hard-workin' farm dog!

Momma's cuttin' our wet pasture tomorrow, and I'll take the babies for their walk again, and we'll take pictures. We're gettin' ANOTHER little baby next week, and then my herd will be complete!

Takin' Care of My Babies

Takin' care of our babies is an important job.

Today I checked out their little barn to make sure nothin' bad was in it.

'Cause we let them loose in the pasture to play.

I saw something and ran to check it out...

(barked 3 minutes at the waving grass....momma)

These guys follow me EVERYWHERE.  They even smell my behind like they think they are DOGS!

Pretty soon I got hot, and I went to sit with my brother on the porch.

C'mon, momma, it's time to go in!

We also read today that a nice pug named Coco has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  We are sorry for his pawrents and his family, and all his friends.  I didn't know him, but he sounds like he was very, very nice.
I hope he can find Gertie and Hannah, and have some new friends there while he waits for his momma to come someday.

More Snow!

I stayed in almost all day today because it SNOWED again!

We played with my stuffies for a while.

I took a good nap on my pillow.

Finally, Lilly and I went out into the wet pasture to do our business.  Man, it was cold and the snow was coming down, though you can't tell it.

Then I went with momma to the henspa, and chased some chickens up on the roost, because it was time for them to go to bed!

Now I'm in the house with momma while the snow is still coming down, and I'm ready to watch some TV and be warm!

The Snow Came

This afternoon, my momma and I worked on a flower bed, even though it was cold and gray outside.  My momma cut down a lot of old flowers and took all the stuff to the compost bins.

I helped.

We took a break and walked down in the pasture for a few minutes.  There I am under Beau's tree.  Beau was our pony, but he crossed the Rainbow bridge.  My sisters Hannah and Addie Mae are sleeping under this tree, because they crossed the Bridge, too... I miss them.  Our kitties Jenny, Nickie and Gwen are there, too.
But my little sister Gertie I miss most of all is in the house, in a little box.  I don't understand that, because momma said she is waiting for us across the Bridge, too.

We came in the house after a while, because momma had to get ready to go to church.

Look what happened!

Yes, it's snowing again.

Here's Lilly helping us in the henspa.
You can see how hard it's snowing.
Momma says it still is.
Momma fell hard.

I'm stayin' in and keepin' my little pug nose WARM!
Everyone be careful in the snow!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I didn't get to wear anything green today, but I did get to go on pasture patrol with Lilly again.

We are checking out the brush pile here.

I know something is living in here, but I don't know what it is.

It's a long way back up to the top of the pasture!

You can see I'm protecting everyone here... I saw something next door that even got my ruff on my back to stand up!  I like to be up on this mountain where I can see everything!

My momma saved me last night... I went out side to potty at 10, and I saw something I had to protect my momma from.  Even Lilly stayed away from it and went right back in the house.  Momma told me "Don't move!" and ran back in the house to get a flashlight.
When she came out, I was still guarding the animal.

Momma didn't get a picture of it, but this is what it looked like:

Only he was in the horseyard, and his tail was standing straight up.

Momma told me to COME ON after she made sure the little guy left.
She told me never, ever to go near this little guy, that I would be very sorry.
Lilly already knew about him... that's why she went inside first.
I guess if momma says to leave him alone, I'd better!

Helpin' Lilly

Today, mama and I were workin' in the garden, but Lilly saw something in the pasture, so we thought we had better go look.

I'm trying to keep up with Lilly, but her legs are so long and mine are so short.  She was WAYYY ahead of me!

We checked out the far corner... there was nothing on the cow pond.

Then we thought we'd better check out the north end.   We kept hearing something.

Mr. Redbird was singing his merry spring song!

Then mama said it was time for me to come up, because patrolling the pasture wears a little pug girl out fast! See my little pink tongue hanging out?
