The Associate Protector of Us All

That's me, the Associate Protector of Us All, with my sister Lilly, who is the Protector of Us All. 

She lookes like a wolf in this picture, and sometimes she can be as mean as a wolf. She is not afraid of ANYTHING.   Last night, she chased two wolves out of our pasture! 

You see we are still doing gardening... but tomorrow it is supposed to SNOW again!

I hope my momma decides to stay in and keep us warm! 

Uh-Oh, I Gots in Trouble!

We were gardening AGAIN.  B.O.R.I.N.G. 

All I do is wait for momma, but I can search around in the yard and smell good things. 

Momma was plantin' swiss chard. 

I just wanted to see what she was doin'. 

I guess I was gettin' in the way, but I just wanted to smell that dirt. 

Momma walked over to say something to daddy, and daddy started laughing and told her to turn around.  As soon as she shot this, I sat down on her plant! 

Daddy rescued me, though, and carried me in the house! 

I'm not grounded, Daddy says.  I was just bein' TOO helpful! 

Very T.I.R.E.D.

We did a LOT more of this today! 

You notice I have my steely glare on something. 

I checked out what was going on under the deck while momma kept rakin' at the garden beds. 

But to tell you the truth, momma finally had to bring me inside to take a rest, because my little puggy body gets overheated so easily. 

"C'mon, Abs... let's go outside and finish the beds...." 

"No, momma... YOU go... I'm gonna rest for a while!" 

We're Pooped OUT

My momma has been working hard all morning, and I've been helping. 

Yep, we're out in the garden again. 

We kept going back and forth with the gardening stuff. 

Finally, we took a break for a minute so momma could sit down by the chicken yard.  I was lookin' for those funny ducks, but they were hiding from me. 

Uh oh... BUSTED.  I found something out in the yard to eat, and I had already had my green beans for lunch.  I'm trying to look inconspicuous here, because momma caught me and told me to stop.

Another Nice Day

What the pug?  Two nice days in a row!

Guess what we did? 

Yep, more gardening.  I'm checkin' out the compost pile here. It smells NUMMY! 

Momma was dumping a lot of dirt on the flower beds. 

Pretty soon I got hot and I went over to the shady spot so I could lay down and supervise momma.  See the hole where Lilly is digging to China again!  A bunny lives down there! 

The Snow Came

This afternoon, my momma and I worked on a flower bed, even though it was cold and gray outside.  My momma cut down a lot of old flowers and took all the stuff to the compost bins. 

I helped. 

We took a break and walked down in the pasture for a few minutes.  There I am under Beau's tree.  Beau was our pony, but he crossed the Rainbow bridge.  My sisters Hannah and Addie Mae are sleeping under this tree, because they crossed the Bridge, too... I miss them.  Our kitties Jenny, Nickie and Gwen are there, too. 

But my little sister Gertie I miss most of all is in the house, in a little box.  I don't understand that, because momma said she is waiting for us across the Bridge, too. 

We came in the house after a while, because momma had to get ready to go to church. 

Look what happened! 

Yes, it's snowing again.

Momma says it still is. 

Momma fell hard. 

I'm stayin' in and keepin' my little pug nose WARM!

First Day of Spring!

Happy, Happy, Happy 

First Day of Spring! 

How come it's so cold here? 

30 degrees at 1 PM!  

Gosh! 

You see we are working in the vegetable garden again.  Momma says we'll go back to the flower beds next week. 

I wasn't lookin' at anything, I was scratchin' my side on that wood, and boy, did it feel GOOD. 

Some of the stuff in these beds smelled good. 

Those are NOT my footprints in the bed I was smellin', they are LILLY's, and yes, I am a tattletale. 

The wind was blowing and it got a little cold, so after I checked on the chickens, I asked momma if I could go back in and get warm, and she said yes. 

Here's my daddy lovin' on me before he went to work today.  I was in a trance, because he was rubbin' my tummy JUST like I like it! 

Sorry I got puggy hair all over your good shirt, daddy  

(HE DOESN"T MIND, he's my daddy and he loves me) 

We had a Busy Day

Today, we did a lot of gardening. 

Well, momma did. 

I watched. 

It got kinda hot in the sun, even though it was blowing kinda hard. 

Pretty soon, momma went to look for me. 

Look where I was!  I was trying to hint to her it was time to go in for a while. 

So we did.  

Whew, I was glad.
